Food for the Good Life!

Happy New Year Everyone!

Ripe is on a mission to help people live better by choosing to eat healthy.

Healthy eating is not about depriving yourself with the foods you love. It’s about feeling energized, feeling good throughout the day and eventually improving your health. You may come across a lot of people with New year resolutions on getting fit, and eating healthy. If you are one of them, think about what you’re doing wrong and how you can do it right before making unrealistic goals! Start small, with tiny steps and watch how much healthier you’ll feel.

Every person who may tell you that a certain food is good for you, some may tell you the exact opposite, leaving you confused. You then, slowly start to drift away from your plan to eating healthy.

You can cut through the confusion and learn to create a nutritious diet for yourself, a diet that is good for your mind and body.

Eating healthy helps improve your mood drastically.

Maintaining a healthy weight will keep you away from health issues. Studies state that diets filled with packaged meals and sugary snacks are directly linked with anxiety and stress which further leads to high blood pressure, diabetes and so on.

Whereas, if you opt to eat fresh, organic fruits and veggies, healthy snacks and cooked meals, it will actually lower your risk to any health issues.

Build a healthy Diet.

We all need a mixed but balanced diet, inclusive of protein, fat, carbohydrates, fiber, vitamins, and minerals in our diets to sustain a healthy body. Here again, it’s confusing on what to eat and what to skip in each category, all you need to do is choose the healthiest option in every category.

Protein, it gives you the energy to keep going and helps support your mood through the day.

Fats, or we say healthy fats are good for the brain, fats like omega-3s.

Carbohydrates, you don’t have to skip this, you rather choose complex carbs like vegetables, whole grains & fruit instead of white bread, starch and sugar.

Fiber, as per nutritionists, a minimum of 21 to 38gms should be consumed daily depending on one’s age and gender. These may include grain, nuts, fruits and veggies.

Calcium, we’ve been hearing about how it helps our bones and teeth since childhood. And yes, it’s true, daily dose of calcium will help you dodge sleepiness and anxiety.

You won’t turn healthier overnight. So, plan well, don’t skip meals and eat only how much your body needs!
