“Invest in your hair, it is the crown you never take off”.  I love this quote and it’s so true so I couldn’t focus on some homemade beauty recipes with Ripe without featuring a DIY beauty hack for our hair.  My hair is basically the ‘bane of my life’.  It’s neither curly nor straight, it’s neither smooth nor thick, it’s just a dry, wavy, frizzy annoyance with lots of kinks including a ‘cows-lick’ at the front.  I basically have a lot of hair but it’s of the ‘fine’ texture.  Painting a lovely picture of myself, aren’t I?  But seriously, I can never tame it properly and I can never recreate that fabulous blow-dry look which makes you feel wonderful once you leave a hair salon.  So I give up.  I just try and nourish it as much as I can, go for regular treatments and trims and basically try be good to it, coz lord knows, I can’t exactly take it off now can I?Whenever I think of hair masks, I want something that is going to leave my hair feeling totally hydrated and moisturized as it’s quite dry and breaks easily.   So this Intensive Conditioning Fruity Hair Smoothie ticks all the right boxes in terms of what my hair actually needs.

Beauty hair mask

Benefits…
Yoghurt: Moisturizes the hair while getting rid of excess oils. Also contains proteins that promote hair growth.
Apple Cider Vinegar: Absorbs and controls excess oil and helps clear itchy scalp and dandruff.
Honey: Restores moisture and puts life back into dull, flat hair.
Strawberries: Control excess oils.
Bananas: Condition and seal in moisture to the hair cuticle, as well as taming frizz.

All sounds good in theory right?  Whilst I love what all these ingredients do and their benefits, I mainly love the fact it’s all pure natural and I know exactly what is going in my hair.  I wouldn’t say the mask transformed my hair; it was noticeably softer after I washed it all out as I think my hair is just destined to be dry and frizzy for life ha, ha.  It was a nice natural and organic boost for my hair and I would definitely try it again and even use it on the kid’s hair.  Just be careful not to add too much Apple Cider as it can be quite strong and overpowering and you don’t want to go around smelling like a bottle of vinegar.  Also, don’t forget to keep it in the fridge, as it feels so much more refreshing as a cooler temperature.

I would give this a go for sure if you have stubborn and sometimes out-of-control tresses like me, your hair deserves it!
